OUR PRODUCTS

Original ceramic designs — handmade at scale

Every Jones & Co product is carefully designed and crafted by hand to last a lifetime. Our original ceramics are inspired by new ideas, fresh perspectives and a playful exploration of current and emerging design trends. You won’t find a mass-produced plain white vase in our collection. Each piece is full of colour, pattern, life and energy. A single mug might have 1000 hand-painted spots, blotches or stripes.

OUR PEOPLE

Every one of our wholesalers and customers is treated the way we would want to be treated — and then we add a little something extra special just because we can. Surprise gifts and giveaways, hassle-free returns and the friendliest customer service in the industry are standard at Jones & Co.

OUR PHILANTHROPY

Supporting our community— rising together

We contribute to RizeUp Australia to build awareness of domestic and family violence and provide practical support to affected families so they are empowered to live a life free from violence.

How it all started // The story of Jones & Co

Manila, The Philippine Islands

The spirit of the abundant host

Picture this. It’s the 1970s and you’re a Filipino-English kid, standing in your lounge room, decked out in a kimono and singing in Japanese to your English dad’s customers. The visitors arrived from the airport in the air conditioned Toyota HiAce van your dad gutted and refurbed with genuine first-class aeroplane seats from Philippine Airlines.

In the kitchen, your glamorous Filipino mother is preparing a delicious, dramatic meal for your guests. To start there will be gambas al ajillo, a traditional dish of small prawns served in beautiful Chinese lacquered boxes. And to finish dessert will be served en flambé.

Your house is full of rattan and wicker furniture, macrame plant hangers, Capiz shell lampshades, carved wooden pineapple bowls. The very same homewares and handicrafts your mum and dad sell and export to Ikea, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Laura Ashley and retailers all over the world. Business trips were disguised as family holidays and were as far-flung as Sweden, Japan, Florida and London.

You’re Jennifer Jones — aka JJ or Miss Jones — founder of Jones & Co.

Surry Hills, Australia

Big dreams start little

In 2006, after a decade-long stint working in big-name fashion labels including Pepe Jeans, Ralph Lauren, Nike, and Diesel, JJ stood in front of her first-ever trade fair stand with a collection of carefully curated products from her beloved Philippines. With her parents standing by her side, she took her first order from a store that still stocks Jones & Co to this day.

From the first office in Surry Hills, JJ dragged boxes of delicate bone china ceramics in interesting and unexpected shapes — think crumpled paper bags and high-top sneakers — up and down the stairs to be unpacked, re-packed and re-shipped by hand.

It was hard work but JJ, true to her parent’s legacy, always found ways to imbue it with adventure, delight and fun.

Bondi and Sydney, Australia

Two Jens are better than one

Together with Creative Director, Jennifer Sampson, JJ expanded the Jones & Co range to include planters and pots, mugs and cups, trays and platters and more.

With JJ based in Bondi Beach and Jen in Sydney’s Inner West, they each bring a fresh interpretation of modern trends to our evolving range of products at Jones & Co. Their similar passions — for food, travel, interior style, art and fashion — and their shared vision for the business: to bring fun, adventure, delight and the spirit of the abundant host to homes right across the globe drives everything they do.

South-East Asia

Taking care of the little details

At Jones & Co we work with talented craftspeople in the Philippines and Vietnam to bring our ideas and designs to life. It’s a genuinely collaborative process, with JJ and Jen designing products the Jones & Co craftspeople are skilled and experienced at creating. Together they also work to explore new territory as the Jones & Co artisans develop their skills and techniques so they can add fresh and exciting designs and products to the range.

Some of the same family-run factories and artisan businesses that supported JJs parents in the ‘70s and ‘80s have worked with Jones & Co since 2006. Unlike some bigger brands, we don’t change factories depending on the range of products, the season or our needs. We continue to work with the same people year after year, decade after decade.
